Men's soccer shoes

All our men's soccer shoes, from match cleats to futsal shoes. The right choice follows a precise order: the surface first, then your style of play, the material and the size.

By playing surface

FG for natural grass, AG or TT for synthetic, IT for the gym. Many adult players keep two pairs: cleats for the outdoor season and futsal shoes for the winter league. An FG/AG model covers both outdoor surfaces if you alternate.

By style of play

The lines split into three families. Speed: ultralight upper and reactive plate, for wingers and forwards who live on runs in behind. Control: textured surface that grips the ball, for midfielders who dictate play. Comfort: generous fit and soft touch, for those who prioritize feel and durability. At Puma, that maps to Ultra, Future and King.

Leather or synthetic

Leather stretches and moulds to the foot: often the better choice if you have a wide foot or if comfort comes first. Synthetic is lighter, dries fast and holds its shape — a real advantage on abrasive synthetic turf.

Your size

Aim for about 5 mm of room in front of the big toe, measure both feet at the end of the day and always try them on with your soccer socks. Fit varies a lot from brand to brand — some run narrow, others wider. Our size guide gives the conversions.

How many pairs of soccer shoes do you need?

For an adult playing year-round in Canada, two pairs cover everything: FG or FG/AG cleats for the outdoor season, and futsal shoes with a flat non-marking sole for the indoor winter league.

Which line should I choose for my position?

Speed lines (ultralight upper, reactive plate) suit wingers and forwards. Control lines (textured surface) serve midfielders who dictate play. Comfort lines (generous fit, soft touch) work at any position if you prioritize feel and durability.

Leather or synthetic for an adult player?

Leather stretches and moulds to the foot — the better choice if you have a wide foot or want comfort. Synthetic is lighter, dries fast and holds its shape, which helps on abrasive synthetic turf.

How do I find my exact size?

Aim for about 5 mm in front of the big toe, measure both feet at the end of the day and go with the larger one. Always try them on with your soccer socks. Note that some brands run narrow and others wider — trying them on in store is still the most reliable method.

Is an FG/AG model a good compromise?

Yes, if you alternate between natural grass and turf from one week to the next. It's more economical than two separate pairs, and performance stays very solid on both surfaces.

How long does a pair last?

A full season for a regular player on natural grass, often less on turf. Replace them when the studs round off, the upper splits, or the heel starts to rock.
