Road Running Shoes for Men
A road shoe is built for pavement and hard surfaces: generous cushioning, a smooth outsole and a fluid transition. The right choice comes down to three things: your gait (neutral or overpronator), cushioning level and drop. Here you'll find 180+ men's models — Brooks, Saucony, ASICS, Mizuno, Puma and more.
Neutral or support?
This is the first criterion. A neutral shoe (Brooks Ghost, Saucony Ride, ASICS Nimbus) suits most runners. A support shoe (Brooks Adrenaline, ASICS Kayano) adds stability if your foot rolls inward (overpronation).
How much cushioning?
Maximum cushioning for comfort and long distances, balanced cushioning for versatile daily miles, and a lighter, snappier profile for fast runs and racing (often with a carbon plate).
What is drop?
Drop is the height difference between heel and forefoot, in millimetres. A high drop (8-12 mm) eases the Achilles and suits heel strikers; a low drop (0-6 mm) favours a midfoot strike. Transition gradually if you switch.
