Neutral or support?

How much cushioning?

What is drop?

Drop is the height difference between heel and forefoot, in millimetres. A high drop (8-12 mm) eases the Achilles and suits heel strikers; a low drop (0-6 mm) favours a midfoot strike. Transition gradually if you switch.

How do I choose road running shoes?

Determine your gait (neutral or overpronator), choose the cushioning level by distance, then the drop by habit. Try them on at the end of the day with your running socks, when the foot is slightly swollen.

What's the difference between a neutral and a support shoe?

A neutral shoe lets the foot move freely and suits most runners. A support shoe corrects overpronation (the foot rolling inward). When in doubt, neutral is the safest choice.

What does a shoe's drop mean?

When should I replace my running shoes?
