How to measure Take the measurement around the chest and back, under the armpits, at the strongest point. Take the measurement at the waist, not tightening the tape. Take the measurement at the strongest point of the hips, with the tape parallel to the ground. The elbow should be slightly bent; take the measurement from the center of the neck, down the shoulder and arm to the wrist bone. Measure from the crotch to the ankle bone. Or, measure a well-fitting basic garment along the seam from the crotch to the bottom.

The Merino Fleece Wind Tight offers a windproof front panel (1 foot3/minute rating) with a durable water repellent (DWR) treatment finish without PFC, for protection from the elements.

Features:

Close fit.

Garment weight: 306 g (10.79 oz).

Flat seams to reduce friction.

Reflective details for better visibility in low light conditions.

Inner drawcord at waist for better fit and 7" zippers at ankles.

Secure zip pocket on back and inside pocket on side panel.

Inseam (size M): 29" (74cm).

Fabric: main body: 46% polyester, 38% merino wool, 16% elastane; upper front panel overlay: 85% nylon, 15% elastane; lining: 56% merino wool, 44% recycled polyester; Exclusive of decoration.

Smartwool Merino Sport Fleece Wind Tight Leggings - Completely Underrated!

These are the best sport wind tights money can buy and seem to be completely underrated. That the sizing of the inseam is shorter seems to throw people off (just order the next size up). The first pair we purchased has gone traveling, hiking and backpacking for weeks at a time, not to mention worn around home for skiing, winter workouts, barn-chores, etc and has yet to show any sign of wear. They breathe well and provide enough wind protection that the difference with regular wool-based hiking leggings is noticeable. Wool means they are also very oder-resistant and when backpacking through small villages in Europe, washing machines were scare to none. We now own 4 pairs in our household and hope Smartwool will continue to manufacture them!
