Running pants

Built for training and winter, running pants prioritize lightness, wind protection and breathability. Many are wind-resistant at the front of the thighs, stretchy for the stride, with zip pockets and reflective details for evening runs. Some add a water-resistant finish for the rain.

Joggers

The jogger, with a tapered fit and elastic waist, comes in three uses: the training jogger (technical, stretchy), the running jogger (light and breathable) and the lifestyle jogger (comfortable for everyday). One look, three levels of performance.

In short: woven to move light and block wind, fleece for warmth and comfort.

Soccer training pants

A staple for warm-ups and training, soccer training pants have a tapered fit and often zip ankles to pull them on over cleats and adjust them. Light and breathable, they keep the muscles warm before the match. See our soccer apparel.

How to choose by activity and season

  • Running: a lightweight woven pant, wind-resistant and breathable.
  • Training / gym: a stretch jogger or a technical pant.
  • Soccer: a tapered pant with zip ankles for warm-ups.
  • Lifestyle: a comfortable fleece jogger.
  • Winter: a thermal or fleece pant, over a base layer.

Through the seasons: light and breathable in summer (or rather a short), woven in the shoulder seasons, fleece or thermal in winter, and water-resistant for rain.

What's the difference between joggers and training pants?

Joggers have a tapered fit and an elastic waist, more fitted and lifestyle. Training pants (sweatpants, track pants) are often straighter and lighter, built for warm-ups and airflow. The difference is mostly the cut.

Should running pants be tight?

Not necessarily. A running pant is often semi-fitted or tapered to keep the fabric from flapping, but comfort comes first. If you want a close-to-body fit, running tights are the alternative.

What's the best winter running pant?

A pant that's wind-resistant at the front of the thighs and breathable at the back, in a thermal fabric, or a thermal tight worn under a short. Look for a water-resistant finish and reflective details for night runs.

Are joggers good for training?

Yes, a technical stretch jogger works very well for training and warm-ups. Avoid heavy cotton for intense effort, as it holds moisture.

Should soccer training pants be tapered?

Yes, the tapered fit (with zip ankles) makes them easier to pull on over cleats and keeps the hem from dragging during warm-ups.

Woven or fleece pants?

Woven is light, wind-resistant and breathable — ideal for running and shoulder seasons. Fleece is warmer and softer — perfect for winter, warm-ups and downtime.
